Ramjee Prasad was born in Babhnaur (Baya), Bihar, India, on 1 July, 1946. He received the B.Sc.
(Eng.) from Bihar Institute of Technology Sindri, India, and the M.Sc. (Eng.) and Ph.D. degrees from
Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Ranchi, India in 1968, 1970 and 1979, respectively. He joined
BIT as a Senior Research Fellow in 1970 and became an Associate professor in 1980. During
1983-1988 he was with the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), Tanzania, where he became a full
Professor in Telecommunications at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in 1986. Since February
1988, he has been with the Telecommunications and Traffic-Control Systems Group at the Delft
University of Technology, where he is actively involved in the area of mobile and indoor radio
communications. He has published over 80 international technical papers and has presented tutorials
on mobile and indoor radio communications at various universities, technical institutions and IEEE
conferences. Professor Prasad is a Fellow of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunications
Engineers.
